Ready, set, go, little royals! 200 metres for everyone aged 3-6 on Saturday afternoon
Together with Schönbrunn Palace, we invite the youngest to join in. All children aged 3-6 run 200 metres on the Ringstrasse at the VCM finish line – dressed up or wearing make-up as a princess or prince!
The special occasion: Schönbrunn Palace and Gardens will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2026. The VCM is joining in the celebrations with this mini kids' run. On Austrian World Heritage Day, Saturday, 18 April 2026, the Ringstrasse will belong to the little ones.

Start: Dr.-Karl-Renner-Ring (near the Parliament)
Finish: Ringstrasse / Burgtheater
Participation fee: €6 → will be donated in full to an organisation that supports children and young people.
Get dressed - costumes welcome!
Crowns, capes, glitter, etc. – anything comfortable is allowed.
Face painting and styling will be available on site!
With lots of heart
Accompanying adults are welcome to run along (also in costume, if they like), official tail runners will ensure safety and motivation – and there is no time pressure. The run will not be timed. All successful princesses and princes will receive an online certificate.
Participation limit: 300 children – be quick!
A run full of smiles, magic and exercise – we look forward to seeing lots of beaming princesses and princes!
New: Vienna 10K Coffee Run
Also new is the Vienna 10K Coffee Run on VCM Sunday. This early run starts at 8 am – one hour before the marathon. You will run past the Giant Ferris Wheel into the Prater Hauptallee and reach the VCM finish line on the Ringstraße.
Look forward to coffee, tea and Viennese pastries in the finish area!

* The Vienna 10K Coffee Run is new to the VCM programme, offering as many running enthusiasts as possible the opportunity to actively participate and experience the Vienna City Marathon atmosphere.
Vienna and coffee are simply a perfect match! And a comparatively short run before the marathon is feasible in terms of organisation. Unfortunately, due to structural constraints on the roads and the characteristics of the route, we are unable to increase the number of participants in the marathon, Wiener Städtische half marathon and Powerade relay marathon.
