49,379 Registrations for All Vienna City Marathon Events

A new record figure and an outstanding VCM Saturday

Saturday of the Vienna City Marathon weekend set Vienna in motion in a truly unique way. The sporting highlight came from Vorarlberg’s Lisa Redlinger, who set a new Austrian Athletics Federation record in the 5 km road race at the Vienna 5K with a time of 15:34 minutes - also meeting the qualifying standard for the Road Running World Championships in Copenhagen this September.

Close to 9,000 runners were registered for Saturday’s events. In total, a new record of 49,379 registrations has been reached across all Vienna City Marathon races. This marks a significant increase compared to last year’s record of 46,083.

At 11 a.m., the Concert for the Marathon celebrated an inspiring premiere in the sold-out Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein, creating a unique opening to the marathon in the world capital of music.

The races along the Ringstraße delighted participants of all ages - from the Coca-Cola Inclusion Run to the Princess and Prince Run, held to mark 30 years of Schönbrunn Palace and Gardens as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as the Daily Mile runs for schoolchildren and young people, and the Vienna 5K on the Ring around the city center.
