We celebrate the VCM winners in the age groups

Applause for unbelievably great performances - from 35 to 85

Cheers to the age group winners of the 42nd Vienna City Marathon! From M/W 35 to M85: Their performances are simply great and inspiring! They also show us that marathon running is not just exciting once or twice. Marathon running is a sport for life.

Congratulations to all of them!

As a special recognition, we will send the VCM winners in the age groups a VCM medal engraved with their name, placing and time.

Elite runners & the oldest participant

The Age Group Champions represent the full diversity of the VCM. In the 35 age group, top athletes led the way: Andreas Vojta, Austria's number 1 at the VCM, in 2:15:01 and Hungary's record holder Nora Szabo with 2:30:21.

At the other end, Felix Pauli had multiple reasons to celebrate. The Austrian was the oldest participant in the entire VCM field. His birthday was exactly on the day of the marathon, April 6, and he turned 85. He crossed the finish line after 6:04:57 hours. He was greeted by the VCM team with a birthday cake - and went on to win the M85 category.

Applause, applause!

The race of Welshman Andrew Davies, who finished tenth overall in 2:17:39 (one place behind Andreas Vojta), was very impressive. The M-45 victory was his for the taking. He came within 13 seconds of the British record in this age group.

Elisabeth Thaller, the W65 winner with a time of 3:56:56, has already taken part in the VCM 18 times and is therefore a member of the VCM Club of Honor for all those with at least ten finishes. The Viennese has already won the W65 in 2023. She was also number one in the W60 at the 2021 VCM.

Helmuth Mair from Brixen in South Tyrol has achieved a fine VCM double. In 2022 he won the M50 in 2:41:55. This time he was even faster with 2:40:09 - and won the M55 category.

The best go to the World Championships

The results of the Vienna City Marathon 2025 are again part of the Age Group World Rankings of the World Marathon Majors.

All those with a direct qualifying time will qualify to take part in the Age Group World Championships in Cape Town 2026, provided they are registered with the AWMM World Ranking. Find out more HERE.
