WEATHER
Info 5.4.2025
Saturday - Forecast:
The weather will change during Saturday afternoon. The wind will shift to the north and become stronger. Temperatures will still be in the pleasant range from just under 20°C at midday to around 10°C at the end of the Vienna 5K. Frequent sunshine, short rain showers are not out of the question. Bring warm, dry clothes for after the race.
Sunday - Forecast:
Cold, mostly sunny, windy, no precipitation expected. Temperatures around 2°C at start time, 7-8°C at midday. The wind may make it feel more uncomfortable, but the sun has some power in April.
The forecasts will become more reliable as the time of the competition approaches. Especially when it comes to the strength of the wind. Prepare yourself for this. Think about what to wear and take with you to the race.
For many runners, thin long-sleeved shirts or T-shirts with sleeves are a good choice, as well as a thin headband in case of wind.
The body produces heat when running and this should not be allowed to build up. Thick jumpers or jackets are therefore not recommended.
- Pack dry clothes, a hat and gloves in your wardrobe bag for afterwards.
- Keep warm at the start, e.g. with old clothes that you can leave behind or with a large rubbish bag that you put on. - The MA 48 collects leftover textiles for recycling.
- Put on several layers so that you can take something off during the run.
- Drink consciously at the refreshment points. You will feel less thirsty in the cold. You still need fluids and electrolytes.
- At the finish, we will hand out plastic ponchos on request.
- After leaving the finish line area, we will hand out warm tea together with the Red Cross.
HEALTH: CHECK!
- If you have acute health problems, get a medical check-up.
- The VCM Medical Centre under the direction of Dr Robert Fritz from Sportordination will be at your disposal on Friday and Saturday at Vienna Sports World.
- Use the back of your race number to provide important information.
