3rd VCM Winter Run
The centrepiece of the VCM Winter Running Series is the Prater Hauptallee with an attractive route around the Lusthaus.
Look forward to a special highlight on March 10, 2024, when we start the "3rd Vienna Calling Half Marathon" on the Reichsbrücke. Experience the record-breaking course like at the start of the Vienna City Marathon and Eliud Kipchoge's INEOS 1:59 Challenge.

Bib number pick-up

HERVIS, Mariahilfer Straße 36, 1070 Vienna
Pick up your race number on Friday if at all possible, especially if you are a half marathon participant. You can also pick up the number for someone else.
On top of that, you will receive a 20 per cent discount on the entire running range (except reduced goods and sports watches) in the Hervis shop at Mariahilfer Straße 36 on this afternoon.

Please arrive early and note that there may be waiting times.
Timing with RFID chip in the race number. You cannot use your own chip and do not need to rent a chip.
Starting area half marathon
The start is on the Reichsbrücke - directly above the Danube Island.
The start area on the Reichsbrücke can be reached by public transport with the underground line U1, station "Donauinsel" (exit "Donauinsel"), on foot or by bike via the footpath/cycle path below the Reichsbrücke.
Access to the Reichsbrücke is from the Danube Island via the south ramp. There is no access by car and no stopping or parking facilities on the Danube Island and/or the Reichsbrücke Ramp South. Please allow sufficient time for your journey to the start.
Access to the start on the Reichsbrücke is possible from 7.30 am for runners from the south ramp. If you want to activate and warm up beforehand, you can do so on the Danube Island.
The start is at 8:00 am.
Cloakroom storage in the BigBus
Possibility to leave a clothes bag in a BigBus. The bus will be available at the Reichsbrücke and will drive to the Prater Hauptallee after the start, where it will also be available for the 5 km & 10 km competition.

Two refreshment points at the half marathon in the Stadionbad area (on both sides of the Hauptallee)
At approx. KM 4.5 and KM 13: water, Powerade

Goodies & Specials
- adidas Test & Try: The adidas team will come to the Hauptallee so that you can test the new great Supernova models.
- Moderation at the start (Reichsbrücke), in the finish area at the Stadionbad and at the Lusthaus.
- Wien Energie Boombox Runners will provide music along the route.
- As a successful finisher, you will receive spring flowers at the finish - while stocks last.
Award ceremonies
- 9:45 am for the top 3 overall finishers in the men's and women's half marathon
- 12:00 pm for the top 3 overall women and men in the 5 km and 10 km races
The winners and top 3 will receive the VCM Winter Run medal, flowers and prizes. No age group award ceremony.

The VCM winter running medal is a great souvenir of your run. It is a three-dimensional snowflake and consists of two interlocking wooden parts with a ribbon. The VCM winter running trophy is manufactured in Lower Austria and made from regional wood. We therefore offer a resource-saving and sustainable memento.
Important: There is no reordering on site! If you would like to receive a medal, you must order it in advance.
The top 3 in the overall standings of each race will receive their VCM Winter Run trophy at the award ceremony, regardless of whether they order it or not.
