The total capacity of a maximum of 35,000 registrations for the Sunday events Marathon, Wiener Städtische Half Marathon and Powerade Relay Marathon remains unchanged compared to the 40th Vienna City Marathon 2023. We aim to provide high event quality and a great experience for everyone.

Therefore, don't wait too long and register early. Registration closes once the participation limit is reached, but no later than April 1, 2024.

Your start number will be assigned shortly before the race. In mid-April 2024, you will receive a confirmation email with your pick-up details, including your start number.

You can make changes to your registration, such as updating your contact information, transferring your registration to someone else, or making additional orders, in your personal account of the online registration system. Login data and links from 2023 or earlier will no longer work.

You can transfer your starting place to a person of your choice in your personal account of the online registration system for a fee of 20 euros. The deadline for this is April 1, 2024.

You can transfer your starting place to the Vienna City Marathon 2025 for a fee of 20,- Euro. To do so, please send an e-mail to office@vienna-marathon.com. The deadline for this is 31 December 2023.

We want you to be well-prepared and in great spirits for the 41st Vienna City Marathon on April 21, 2024. As part of your preparation, participating in a running event is a great motivation and boost for your fitness.

For those who have already registered for the Marathon or Wiener Städtische Half Marathon of the 41st VCM, we offer a boost for your preparation in Vienna and several federal states. Within a limited special quota, you have the opportunity for free participation in the VCM Tribute to Eliud or one of the events in the VCM Winter Running Series or one of our partner races, as long as there are available spots.

Running is inclusive and diverse, a sport for everyone. This is part of our understanding. The vibrant atmosphere of every running event beautifully reflects this. Practically anyone can participate as a hobby runner, regardless of their origin, status, income, beliefs, age, appearance, speech, thoughts, or sexual orientation, or the gender identity attributed to oneself or others.

We also show the diversity of the running community with the gender selection option of "male", "female", "diverse" or "no answer".

Please note that finishers who choose "diverse" or "no answer" will not be considered in the categories of men or women, and therefore, they will not appear in these results and age group rankings. This is in line with the rules of World Athletics and the Austrian Athletics Federation. The Age Group World Ranking of the World Marathon Majors only includes results from the categories of men and women.

Due to rising prices and costs in all areas, it was necessary to make some adjustments to the entry fees in order to continue providing high quality and reliability for you. Determining the entry fees for almost a full year in advance is a challenge under the current circumstances. We will announce further pricing details later, but in a timely manner before each subsequent fee increase. We appreciate your understanding.

Currently, we do not offer cancellation/withdrawal insurance for illness. If a specific offer becomes available, we will inform you. Subsequent booking for registrations already made will be possible.

You can switch from the marathon distance to the half marathon distance during the race without prior notice. At the finish line, you will receive a medal and will be listed in the half marathon results. However, there will be no refund of the entry fee difference. Conversely, switching from the half marathon to the marathon is not possible.

Timing will be done using an RFID chip embedded in the race number. Wearing a race number with an integrated chip is mandatory to receive an official result. You cannot use your own chip and there is no need to rent a chip.

• For information about the refreshment stations at the VCM 2023, you can click here (subject to changes for 2024).
• Eight refreshment stations with water and Powerade (every 5 km), bananas will be provided starting from the 15 km mark.
• Fifteen additional water stations - some with personnel, some without.
• Finish area refreshments including drinks and fruit in the finisher bag.
• For participants in the marathon (42.195 km): the opportunity to drop off personal drink bottles for self-supply at the race number pick-up (no glass bottles, detailed labeling required). Self-supplied refreshments will be placed at the refreshment stations, second in line after the refreshments for elite runners. Please understand that we cannot guarantee that your self-supplied refreshments will actually be available.
• Refreshments and drinks adjusted to the race distance will also be provided for the Saturday races.

You can order medal engraving during your registration or later in your registration dashboard. For the Sunday races, this is possible until April 1st at a price of 12 euros.

Medal engraving will be done on-site in the finish area at Rathausplatz.

We will provide official pacemakers for various marathon target times. More detailed information will follow.

Official tail runners / tail walkers will participate in all Saturday and Sunday events to accompany and motivate runners at the back of the field, running all the way to the finish line to provide support.
