We are looking forward to great running experiences together!
A new format and a great joint experience: On Thursday, 15 July, we will start "The Hour of Vienna" for the first time. You run as far as you can in 60 minutes. Or you run for an hour for the first time ever.
Everyone reaches the finish at the same time. No matter who is running at what pace. Because the run in Vienna Prater ends after exactly one hour. Start times 5:30 pm and 6:45 pm.
At the start & finish we will show the highlights of the Vienna City Marathon 2019 on a video wall. Look forward to an atmospheric event and your finisher medal.
Test your shape five weeks before the Vienna City Marathon. On Thursday, 5 August we run into the Viennese night.
In preparation for participation in a VCM event we offer the classic distances 5 km, 10 km, 15 km and half marathon on the Prater Hauptallee. Start times 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm.
Feel the VCM spirit. As recognition you will receive a finisher medal.
Together we run, this motto also applies to training. At the VCM Training Runs with the Sportordination team of experts, you will learn how best to build up your speed and train step by step for the Vienna City Marathon on 12 September 2021.
On three dates we offer intensive intervals and tempo endurance runs in five different tempo groups. These highlight training sessions are designed for runners with a marathon target time of 3:30 to 4:30 hours or a half marathon target time of 1:45 to 2:15 hours.
Tuesday, 6 July - Intensive interval training
Tuesday, 27 July - Intensive interval training
Tuesday, 24 August - Tempo endurance run
Start at 7:30 pm. Total duration of each training 90-120 minutes.
Meeting point: Prater Hauptallee KM 2 / "Kipchoge Finish" / Stadionbad car park
Participation in the VCM Training Runs is free of charge.
All dates of the VCM Sommer of Running will take place according to the rules valid at the time. For 1 July, the Austrian federal government has announced the abolition of participant limits at events and gatherings. We therefore expect that the previous rule of a maximum of 50 hobby runners at running events and training sessions ("gatherings without allocated and marked seating") will no longer play a role.
It can be assumed that participants in running events will have to provide proof that they have been vaccinated, tested or have recovered from Covid-19. We will actively inform about possible further concrete regulations.
