Your running highlight six weeks before the Vienna City Marathon!
At the event on 7 March we run the "Vienna Calling Half Marathon" starting on the Reichsbrücke – a great foretaste of the Vienna City Marathon.
In the Prater Hauptallee we are organising runs over 1 Mile, 5 km and 10 km. We look forward to seeing you!

At every event in the VCM Winter Running Series, we count which group, club or community brings the most active runners to the start.We celebrate the three largest teams after each race and at the end we crown the "Crew of the Winter Season 2026/27". The top 3 teams in the entire series will receive cash prizes and a VIP table as well as tickets for the VCM After Race Party on 18 April 2027.
To participate, each runner must provide their community name when registering (no company teams).
VCM Winter Mile
The 3rd VCM Winter Run also features a mile run! Ideal for young athletes and families to warm up for the VCM junior races, as well as for anyone who wants to feel the speed and try their hand at this classic distance of 1,609 metres.The VCM Winter Running Series is a proud partner of Erste Bank Sparkasse Running.
All VCM Winter Runs are officially AIMS-measured and part of the World Athletics Global Calendar.

No late registration for the half marathon!
Entry fee Mile: € 15 (Children & Youth rates up to 15 years € 6)
Entry fee 5K/10K: € 30 (Children & Youth rates up to 15 years € 15)
Members of the City of Vienna Benefits Club receive a 20% discount on the entry fee, as long as starting places are available, until the Wednesday before the race at the latest. Valid for one online registration. No discount on children's and youth rates. The discount link is only visible to logged-in members. The discount cannot be redeemed retroactively on existing registrations.

Bib collection for all events
In the days before the race and last-minute on race day - details to follow.
Net timing with RFID chip in the bib number. You cannot use your own chip and don't need to rent a chip either.
Half Marathon start area
The start takes place on the Reichsbrücke – directly above the Donauinsel.
The start area on the Reichsbrücke is accessible by public transport via subway U1, station "Donauinsel" (exit "Donauinsel"), on foot or by bike via the walkway/bike path below the Reichsbrücke.
Access to the Reichsbrücke is via the south ramp from the Donauinsel. There is no car access and no stopping or parking possibilities on the Donauinsel and/or the Reichsbrücke south ramp. Please plan enough time for your journey to the start.
Bag storage & transport with BigBus
Opportunity to drop off a clothing bag in a BigBus at the start. Two buses are ready on the Reichsbrücke. After the start they drive to the finish area and will be positioned there in Meiereistraße at the entrance to the Rugby Club. Bag pickup until 11:00 AM. No liability for loss or theft.
The finish of the half marathon is exactly where start & finish of the mile as well as the 5 km and 10 km run are located.
Half marathon runners can therefore also use the Rugby Union facilities.

- We are using the facilities of Rugby Union Donau Wien as the home base for the VCM Winter Run.
- The entrance is located at Meiereistraße 20, 1020 Vienna, right by the Hauptallee and the Stadionbad parking lot.
- Last-minute bib collection on Sunday, medals, finish refreshments, awards ceremony and great atmosphere after the run: Everything in one place!
- Changing rooms & showers are available for you there.
- The changing rooms are unlocked and there are no lockers. No liability for loss or theft. Leave valuables at home.
- Start & Finish are directly on Prater Hauptallee, a short distance from the Meiereistraße crossing towards the Ferris Wheel.
- How to get there: by subway U2 (Stadium), by bicycle or by car (Stadionbad parking lot).

Order: for participants in the Mile, 5 km and 10 km events until registration deadline of the respective event together with registration or via link in your registration confirmation.
The VCM Winter Run Medal is a great keepsake for your run. The VCM Winter Run Medal is made in Lower Austria and produced from regional wood. This way we offer a resource-saving and sustainable keepsake.
Important: There are no additional orders on site! If you participate in the mile, 5 km and 10 km events and want to receive a medal, you must pre-order it. For finishers of the Vienna Calling Half Marathon, the medal in a special design is included in the entry fee.
The top 3 in the overall ranking of each race will receive their VCM Winter Run Medal regardless of an order at the awards ceremony.
