Felix and Tola have taken the lead from Arusei, who has dropped back. the two are now fighting for victoy. Felix has her own pacemaker in front of her.
Arusei is still in the lead at the 35 k point, but it is getting really close now. Arusei passed this mark in 2:01:20 (now pointing to 2:26:20 finish) with Felix, Tola and Getaneh just 15 seconds behind.
John Kiprotich wins the Vienna City Marathon with 2:08:29 (unofficial), Patrick Ivuti takes second with 2:08:40 and another Kenyan Evans Kiplagat is third in 2:09:23.
Felix, Tola and Getanah are only 44 seconds behind because Arusei slows.
Arusei is in difficulties with a 30 k split of 1:43:20.
John Kiprotich has a huge advantage now on Ivuti and should win the race.
Haile Gebrselassie is waiting on the finish line for the winner of the marathon.
So far Kiprotich has a PB of 2:15:51 from Frankfurt in 2009.
With 3 k to go John Kiprotich has opened a bigger gap - could the 22 year-old Kenyan be the surprise winner of the Vienna City Marathon?
The course record is out of reach, it will be a time of around 2:08:30. John Kiprotich now opens a small gap on Patrick Ivuti.
Kiplagat is the next one to drop out of the group. Now iot is between Patrick Ivuti and John Kiprotich.
MAregu now loses contact, so there are only three in the lead now.
Four men have broken away from the group at 35 k: Patrick Ivuti, Evans Kiplagat, Joseph Maregu and John Kiprotich.
Peninah Arusei increases her lead to 1:14 minutes at the 25 k point, which she reaches in a promising 1:25:18. This could be a great marathon debut for the Kenyan with a possible time of 2:24.
Paul Kirui, one of the favourites falls back. Eight runners are in front of him, but it seems a more tactical than fast race.
The 30 k point was reached in 1:31:31, which means that the pace was dropped. Now they are trailing a minute behind the course record
At the 30 k point pacemakers Nicholas Kiprono and Joseph Ngolepus drop out. Evans Kiplagat, who features a PB of 2:10:07 leads the group.
The leading men are now in the Prater, a big park area, with plenty of trees and shade. It is a flat stretch there so they can run fast.
Nicholas Kirpono is the pacemaker who now does the hard work of keeping the runners on course for a good sub 2:08 time or even faster.
Still 13 runners are in the lead (men) with a 25 k split of 1:15:39 - still on course for course record.

Well behind her is a group of five with Ana Dulce Felix, Fate Tola, Elisabeth Chemweno, Genet Getaneh (the fastest in the field with a PB of 2:26:37) and Emebet Itaa Bedada.

Back to the marathon: 63:52 minutes is the half way split. In the leading group are Kenyans Paul Kirui and Patrick Ivuti plus plenty of others.

Haile has broken the Austrian allcomers record.
Haile Gebrselassie wins the half marathon in Vienna with a time of 60:17 minutes (unofficial) on the Heldenplatz. Haile smiles during the final metres and then waves to crowd who celebrate this outstanding athlete.
Haile will not break the hour in Vienna, but he should be within 60:30 minutes.
Haile is now in the inner city. The Austrian allcomer record in the half marathon stands at 60:53. Mohammed El Hachimi clocked this time in Vienna in 2009. This record should go to Haile in a few minutes.
Haile is now back in the city centre and is targeting the hour mark.
As expected only Africans are in the leading group of the marathon.
In the marathon of the men there are 15 runners in the first group, including the pacemakers. They pass 15 k in 45:18, which is fine for the course record of 2:07:38.
Women: Peninah Arusei is now on her own and passes the 10 k mark in 34:19 minutes.
Amazingly huge crowds are cheering Haile on.
Haile passed the 15 k mark in 42:15 minutes, which means he has clearly picked up the pace in the past 5 k section. This would now lead to a finishing time of 59:26, but in the coming kilometres there are some slight uphill sections as well.
The elite group of the marathon runners (men) had passed the 10 k point in 30:15, which is a pace for the course record of 2:07:38.
Arusei is running with Diana Lobacevske (Lithuania) and Elisabeth Chemweno (Kenya). Ana Dulce Felix takes a more careful approach with a 5 k split of 17:23, running in a bigger group.
Women: Peninah Arusei leads the race of the women with a 5 k split of 17:05 which is good for a 2:24 finish.
Haile passed the leading group just before the 12 k mark. He is now all on his own at the front of the Vienna City Marathon. His 10 k time was 28:35, which now indicates to a time slightly over 60 minutes.
Haile is overtaking more and more runners, who have fallen back from the groups in front.
The four pacemakers are still a bit too far ahead of the first big group.
Haile starts overtaking the slower elite runners. He passes the 5 k mark in 14:11 minutes, which means he has already made up 51 seconds of his two minute deficit. His time by the way suggests Haile is going for a sub 60 minute time.
The pace makers of the elite marathon runners pass the 5 k mark in 15:02 minutes. Four pace makers are a couple of strides in front of a bigger group.
Huge crowds line the course of the Vienna City Marathon. Commentators say a lot of people seemed to have come out to watch Haile running in Austria for the first time. He passes the 2 k mark in 5:46 minutes. So probably he has already made up 20 seconds.
Haile is now on his own at the front of the half marathon. The elite marathon men had a relatively slow start but the pacemakers are now picking it up.
It would be a hhuge surprise if Haile would not be able to catch the elite marathon runners. He should start overtaking the slower elite runners after around five kilometres.
Weather conditions are fine with sunshine, around 12 Celsius at the start and hardly any wind.
Haile Gebrselassie and all the others have started exactly two minutes behind the elite men. The chasing race has begun.
